Suzi, I enjoyed reading your article. Kids can read, and you think they understand what they are reading so nicely, loud and definite to his or her ability.
Now when you ask them the question about what exactly they have been reading, it is like it just vanished into thin air from their head.
Kids can be so sweet and fun, I love kids.
Do have kids?
Hi Mariam:) Thank you so much for your sweet comment! Yes, I do have kids- 21 of them! Actually, I don’t have any of my own. However, I consider the kiddos that I tutor to be my own, at least for the 1-2 hours that I have them each week! Yes, childen are sweet. I think they are some of God’s most precious gifts to the world:) I think my mission has become to ensure that each child that I come in contact with has the ability to read, and comprehend everything they are reading. This will take them to new heights in their lives:) When a child can read well, there’s no telling what they can accomplish with their lives:) Thank you, again, for your kind comment!
Thank you, Suzi, for your practical tips and encouragement. I like what you wrote about building special memories with one’s child through reading together. Perhaps my boy could be more fascinated with reading if I introduce books that interest him. Please suggest good books for an 8 year old boy who loves robots, space ships, animals and cars. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi Cassia:) Thanks so much for taking the time to look over my website! I really appreciate it:) As far as books for an 8 year old kiddo, I would definitely recommend introducing him to the Warrior series by Erin Hunter. These are books about dogs, cats, and other animals. In fact, there are several series of books that go along with this particular series. As far as robots and space ships… there are some wonderful books by Scholastic about the planets, but I’ll have to do some research about books dealing with robots and space ships. I’ll check back with you soon!
